Agent access starts off. Journals and attachments start excluded. You decide what's readable: globally, per collection, or per note.
Checked twice, redacted first
Permissions are applied before anything is published to the bridge and again when an agent asks. Credentials found in notes are replaced with placeholders before an agent can read them.
Local, on your Mac
The bridge runs on your Mac, beside the apps you already use. There's no Cohestry server in between.
Proposals, not surprises
In Suggest mode, the default, every change is a proposal you accept or dismiss. An agent can never delete a note.

You choose how much an agent may do.

Every write arrives as a proposal under Proposed changes. Nothing touches a note until you accept it.
Direct changes
Appends, new captures, new evergreen notes and archiving apply as soon as Cohestry validates them, and the agent is told they did. Rewrites of an existing note and new links still arrive as proposals. Each applied change keeps a revision.

Which apps work with it?
Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf and Gemini CLI, on the same Mac as Cohestry.
Do I need Pro?
Yes. The Agent Bridge is part of Cohestry Pro. Free users can see the Agent access screen and what it would do.
Can I use it from my iPhone?
Not today. The bridge runs on your Mac, so agents on your Mac can reach it. Policy you set syncs to your devices, and applies on the Mac once it syncs.
Can an agent change who can read what?
No. Agents can't change permissions, and every session must match your current policy. Revoking access ends existing sessions.
